Datacentres and AI

Project for the Integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into AixBOMS for the further development of the Sustainable Data Centre, funded by the Federal Funding Programme ZIM (Central Innovation Programme for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises).

Optimisation of energy consumption and sustainability of data centres through novel integration of IoT sensor technology and intelligent control algorithms

Rising energy consumption and CO2 emissions/equivalents from data centres represent an ever-increasing problem. To ensure optimised, energy-efficient, and sustainable IT operations, AixpertSoft is developing its own methodologies for integrating IoT sensor data and control software for data centres, taking into account ML methodology.

Values relating to material cycles, water, or energy measurements are also to be processed. Real-time data for temperature, electricity consumption, building management systems, or IT component performance data can be recorded, correlated, and analysed. Effects become visible via direct feedback loops (e.g. thresholds, alarming). The project objective is the Reduction in energy consumption of up to 20% without restrictions in the work processes.

While common AI projects focus on measurement series or operational situations, this project aims to integrate measurement data (sensors), IT configuration data (configuration), and load profiles (workloads) from various configuration variants into rulesets and optimisations.
