Virtual Machines

AixBOMS Configuration Management: Extension for Virtual Environments

Automatic capture

Automated capture and inventory via REST, grouping, capacity statements, and provisioning are among the core tasks of the „Virtual Machines“ sub-module. In addition to special object classes and methods for data capture, complex mapping models have evolved over the years to decipher and represent the relational network of virtual environments.

Clarity

Precisely because of the high number of virtual machines in the field and their interrelationships, clarity must be ensured. In addition to its own „Virtual Machines Editor“, for example, for the overall representation of a vCenter or available capacities, tree and display structures have also been created in masks to provide clarity.

Provisioning

Not only self-maintaining inventory, but also the „roll-out“ of individual instances and machines at the touch of a button are among the tasks of the sub-module. Thus, configuration catalogues can be pre-defined based on the AixBOMS template functionality and used or accessed for creation (provisioning).
