connect professional: AixpertSoft has been on the market with AixBOMS for quite some time. How has the market developed up to today and what changes in the product have gone hand in hand with this?

Nickel: We have been on the market with AixBOMS for over 20 years and have continuously developed the overall product. At the core of the software is a mature technical repository that allows for an extensive mapping of the IT landscape, thus taking on the tasks of a technical CMDB (Configuration Management Database). The functional blocks and modules for IT service mapping, Data Centre Infrastructure Management, or DCIM, and network documentation have gained importance in the last decade. We are experiencing particular dynamism in DCIM. Initially conceived as an inventory, cabling, and planning tool for the data centre, the software has since evolved into a digital data centre twin with control and optimisation functions and sustainability assessment.
