Graphical management of data centres and large-scale server rooms: The digital twin

Capacity management, Green IT (power, component, and climate efficiency), operations, monitoring, and virtualisation are today among the challenges for modern data centre infrastructure management (DCIM). With AixBOMS Data Centre Management, the user has a CMDBAn application with a 3D view, floor and overview plans, cabinet management and visualisation (Rack Management), power management, reports and detailed technical device data are available within a unified interface.

Dashboards

Dashboards are aggregated information displays featuring up to 60 different types of graphical charts. The individual elements are interactive and can be selected, modified, or customised by the user. In addition to pre-configured views for each application, custom dashboards can be individually designed in AixBOMS.

The integrated Area Plan Editor makes additional maintenance of drawings or overview plans with special visualisation tools, such as those in Microsoft Visio™, redundant. Base plans for floors or areas can be stored and enriched with CMDB objects. More recently, the integration of BIM (Building Information Modelling), the use of map material (Maps Integration) and the digital twin (3D view) have been added.

CMDB-assisted capacity optimisation, utilisation planning and monitoring

Specialised calculation and evaluation functions or reports support CMDB-based capacity management. The high degree of integration with the base CMDB makes further technical infrastructure data available, such as for cabling and network connections, customer and contract management, or service provision. Specialised objects and calculations for power and climate data (Power Management) help you achieve your Green IT goals or directly prevent over- and under-capacity.
