Management and visualisation of network paths Layer 1 to Layer N
The core task of AixBOMS Connectivity Management is the assignment of network-based services to paths (routes) within complex, meshed network topologies. Service-oriented network operators require algorithms for finding optimal paths that take into account today's complex component structures (cabinet construction, server clusters, main distributors, etc.), their assignment to logical nodes, such as site, building, and floor nodes, and the respective technological properties like port quality and service characteristics.
AixBOMS Connectivity Management provides various route types, the combination of which allows the documentation of any network route. This includes routes over unknown segments, multiple ongoing routes, multiplexing, and redundant routes with the specific attributes required for them (e.g., contract data, contact persons). The Connectivity Structure Editor for Layer-N routes graphically displays composite network routes with all segments and offers further functions and access to detailed information via context menus. Overviews, such as maps, illustrate route paths, qualities, and states.
