AixBOMS’ intelligent „Total Integrator“

The AixBOMS Integration Engine Enterprise is a high-end solution for integrating diverse data sets into a CMDB or CMS. It is based on the ETL principle, which distinguishes three important process steps:

Extract — Selection of data to be integrated

Transform — Normalisation of data for further processing in a more general context and assignment of data to AixBOMS elements in the CMDB

Load — Saving the data to the database

All three steps are supported by AixBOMS's graphical user interface with powerful wizards for automating and securing processing steps. The iterative approach and integrated job control make it possible to use AixBOMS IE in any environment, even for huge data volumes.

A particularly special highlight is the comfortable Job Editor, which enables graphical user guidance including drag-and-drop operations for defining an entire integration process. The specification phases are organised in window blocks that represent the respective configuration units as icons. Via mouse click, they can be populated with detailed information and further icons for sources, tasks, destinations, etc., and even additional transformation phases can be added. Once defined, building blocks can easily be reused for new job definitions.

For the individual steps, there is a comprehensive range of user-friendly, context-sensitive assistants that, on the one hand, speed up processing and, on the other hand, make it more secure through appropriate pre-settings and built-in validation rules. Errors or problems that occur during the integration process are documented clearly and understandably. The Logging Editor offers particular support in the evaluation by organising log files based on AixBOMS IDs. Through its graphical user interface, users can specifically search for these entries and access the relevant entries with a mouse click.
