Data centres and data centre services are one of the central factors in the ongoing digitalisation and greening of Western societies in the 21st century. In addition to general energy, space, and resource availability, data centres are currently in a growing area of tension between enormous demand and growth on the one hand, and the imperative of ecological planning, operation, and recycling, automated processes, and increasing security requirements on the other.
Besides architectural and conceptual changes, decentralisation, variety of trades and siloed thinking, a safe and ecological operation must be ensured throughout the entire life cycle. We are of the opinion that this objective can only be achieved by 2030 with the support of suitable software systems from the DCIM sector, especially as we are increasingly dealing with clustered structures.
