To be able to respond correctly to the challenges posed to the data centre, knowledge of the interrelationships is essential. This is particularly true for the operation of complex IT infrastructures.
The aim of implementing ITIL is therefore to bring order to the complexity of service operations and to coordinate operational processes in such a way that the implemented processes can interlock. The processes required by ITIL are analysed, tailored to individual needs, and introduced step-by-step. These processes require the support of appropriate tools.
At the data centre of the NRW State Tax Authority (RZF NRW), this is achieved in several stages by integrating the technical CMDB AixBOMS with the newly introduced ITSM tools.
