Can AixBOMS also hostnames?

In AixBOMS, a hostname is not an attribute but a standalone data object. This allows it free assignment to active components, ports and IP addresses, and also to logical objects and service items – depending on customer requirements or use case.

The hostname generator calculates alphanumeric individual sequences, taking into account custom prefixes (incl. namespace), suffixes and counters, and combines them to form a hostname according to your specifications. You can define the schemas yourself. A database object will then be created for this hostname, which you can link to other objects later. Of course, it is also possible to create any number of aliases.
