Data centres and data centre services are one of the central factors in the ongoing digitalisation and greening of Western societies in the 21st century. In addition to general energy, space, and resource availability, data centres are currently in a growing area of tension between enormous demand and growth on the one hand, and the imperative of ecological planning, operation, and recycling, automated processes, and increasing security requirements on the other.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Besides architectural and conceptual changes, decentralisation, variety of trades and siloed thinking, a safe and ecological operation must be ensured throughout the entire life cycle. We are of the opinion that this objective can only be achieved by 2030 with the support of suitable software systems from the DCIM sector, especially as we are increasingly dealing with clustered structures.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n

    Industry 4.0 is the term for a future project aiming to comprehensively digitise industrial production to better equip it for the future. Industrial production is to be integrated with modern information and communication technology. The technical basis for this is intelligent and digitally networked systems, which are intended to enable largely self-organising production. In Industry 4.0, people, machines, systems, logistics and products will communicate and cooperate directly with each other. This networking should make it possible to optimise not just a single production step, but an entire value chain.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    The definition of Industry 4.0 makes it clear that the necessity for implementation requires the networking of digital systems with intelligent characteristics. Frequently, the term \"ecosystem\" is also found here, which on the one hand includes the characteristic of data exchange functionality and orchestration of systems and processes, and on the other hand pursues a target direction along the value chains.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n
